damn 2009 was such a great year for kpop
thanks psy for making me nostalgic

this is like one big inside joke

These siblings really deserve it! \o/ At first I thought it was just about taking the YouTube sensation to nationwide broadcast, but it was really more than that. With reality singing competitions gaining ground in Korea, we get to see talent evolve straight from audition to debut, unlike waiting for them to come out of training dungeons. We don’t need perfect idols and perfect faces, we get live singing performances. In fact, they seem to have more freedom with this than having to go through idol promotions.

And they really came alive with Mmmbop. Akdong Musician really stood out with her voice and their all-around ability to belt out sweet melodies then rap. Congratulations!

To be honest, I still think Bang Yedam’s most memorable performance is Where is The Love, even if the harmonica’s not in it. He may not consciously even know but he uses his voice, however young it may be, in all the right ways that it gets very entertaining. He’s such a toddler with adult swag? I just wish that they get to make him do a substantial amount of material at this age, because he sounds so right right now (this is where you realize the “noona” concept works in full effect) and it would be a joy to watch him evolve. (I mean, Justin Bieber doesn’t sound the same in One Less Lonely Girl and As Long As You Love Me, for reasons.)

I cannot deal with the cute. And he can falsetto as much as he wants now with that voice until puberty hits him, yeah.

oh my god it’s your birthday, and i remembered
go forth, chingu!
you are so part of the reality we’ve always wanted #thingsshawolssay

The power of programming. What most schools don’t teach. I’m experiencing this every night as we build product with skills we didn’t have the night before. It’s intoxicating.
